Even better than recycling, donate your plastic grocery bags to be used again.
While reducing is best, there are multiple places in Lincoln that will use your bags to support a cause.
Benefits
Free
It doesn’t cost anything to donate your plastic bags.
Easy
We all have the inevitable bag of bags stuffed in a cabinet somewhere – simply drop them at a local Goodwill when needed.
Impactful
Neither of the below programs would be possible if community members didn’t donate their bags.

Goodwill locations in Lincoln accept clean plastic bags or cloth reusable bags to reuse for purchases made at Goodwill. Simply stuff your plastic bags into a bag, drop them off at the checkout counter at your Goodwill of choice, and that is all there is to it!
Donate to Becky’s Beds of Bags
Becky Topil, a Lincoln resident, helps organize a program where plastic grocery bags are woven into beds that are then donated to shelters in Lincoln. The program has had great community support, which means bags aren’t always needed – check the link below for more information!
